This course is a 10-hour offshore orientation program that covers a wide variety of topics necessary for safe work practices. Topics covered include: Behavioral Safety, HAZCOM, Confined Space, and Bloodborne Pathogens, just to name a few. All contractors working on BP American Production, Chevron Texaco, ExxonMobil, Shell and Superior platforms will be required to have completed an accredited SafeGulf course.

(Helicopter Underwater Egress Training)
An individual forced to abandon a burning platform or a ditched helicopter will find himself in an environment which possess various threats to his life. All aspects of emergency preparedness are addressed, starting with abandonment procedures through rescue techniques. Unlike many area Water Survival courses, ASA’s water survial incorporates valuable entry-from-a-height and swing-rope training. Students are given the training to properly execute emergency response actions. Participants will receive both classroom and hands on training in the use of lifesaving equipment and appliances required by government and industry. Classes offered every Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 7:45-3pm.

This presentation will address the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 q 6 (i) for First Responder Awareness level training. This addresses persons who are likely to witness or discover a hazardous substance release and who have been trained to initiate an emergency response sequence by notifying the proper authorities.
