SAFEGULF

This course is a 10-hour offshore orientation program that covers a wide variety of topics necessary for safe work practices. Topics covered include: Behavioral Safety, HAZCOM, Confined Space, and Bloodborne Pathogens, just to name a few. All contractors working on BP American Production, Chevron Texaco, ExxonMobil, Shell and Superior platforms will be required to have completed an accredited SafeGulf course.
Course offered every Thursday from 8am-6pm.

WATER SURVIVAL/HUET

(Helicopter Underwater Egress Training)

An individual forced to abandon a burning platform or a ditched helicopter will find himself in an environment which possess various threats to his life. All aspects of emergency preparedness are addressed, starting with abandonment procedures through rescue techniques. Unlike many area Water Survival courses, ASA’s water survial incorporates valuable entry-from-a-height and swing-rope training. Students are given the training to properly execute emergency response actions. Participants will receive both classroom and hands on training in the use of lifesaving equipment and appliances required by government and industry. Classes offered every Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 7:45-3pm.

HAZ COM (Hazard Communications “Right to Know”)

Introduction to hazard communication regulation; identifying hazardous chemicals; product warning labels; MSDS – Material Safety Data Sheet; the Written Hazard Communication; employee training requirements.

Hours: 4 Member Cost: $55 Non-Member Cost: $75

 

HAZWOPER

(Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) 1st Responder Awareness

This presentation will address the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 q 6 (i) for First Responder Awareness level training. This addresses persons who are likely to witness or discover a hazardous substance release and who have been trained to initiate an emergency response sequence by notifying the proper authorities.

Hours: 8 Member Cost: $125 Non-Member Cost: $150

 

FORKLIFT OPERATOR CERTIFICATION

This comprehensive program is designed to help you meet and exceed the latest regulations and standards for operator training on powered hand trucks, lift trucks and forklifts. Applicable to all of your employees regardless of experience level, the program covers all areas of safe operation and maintenance. In addition, a special bonus section addresses pedestrian safety procedures for employees who work around lift trucks. This course provides a step-by-step presentation, guidelines, tests, registration form, inspection and performance checklist, OSHA background information and a “hands-on” performance evaluation section.

UTILITY TRUCK DRIVER COURSE

4 classroom hours specifically for the utility industry—gas, electric, telephone and cable– comprehensive coverage of collision-prevention techniques.

RIGGER TRAINING

Qualified Rigger Training —MMS Requirements referenced in 1999 4th Ed. and new 5th Ed. API rp-2D.

Hours: 4 Member Cost: $60 Non-Member Cost: $85

 

OSHA BOOT CAMP

Learn OSHA regulations and when those regulations apply to your company. This course will prepare you for OSHA inspections.

Classes offered the first Tuesday of each month, but special classes can be arranged at your workplace.

Hours: 6                        Cost: $95 per student
